Sylvia Winkler (*1969 / Austria) and Stephan Koeperl (*1966 / Germany) got their degrees from the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart. Their collaboration started 1997 in Kunming/P.R. China. Since then they have realized urban interventions in numerous different places around the world. Their attention focuses on the particularities in the daily occurrences of a city. These impurities they adapt to develop interventions, where the observed initial situation is still recognizable, but which establish new contexts through its modification. Therefore new rules for the handling of specific situations are suggested and the vocabulary of possible actions is extended.
